Calisthenics Class

Learn Calisthenics & Handstands

The L9 Skills Program is a Calisthenics Class designed to help you practice and learn calisthenics & handstands skills. It assumes you are already investing in strength & flexibility either in your own time or via our Fitness Programs (L9 Program, Strength or Stretch Classes).

Our brand of Calisthenics involves Strength, Flexibility & Movement, in a controlled and aesthetically pleasing style. This class will cover calisthenics skills utilising:

  • The Floor
  • Parallets & PBar
  • Pull Up Bar
  • Gymnastic Rings
  • The Box

It’s recommended that you can do push ups already and be close to a pull up. (If not, you are still welcome to attend but we highly recommend spending time at L9 Program, Strength & Stretch)

Who is the L9 Skills for?

Practicing Handstands

The Handstand is a core Calisthenics skill, and regular handstand practice is conducted in the Calisthenics Class. You don’t need to be able to do a handstand, instead you will work at your level to start regular handstand practice. 

Practicing Calisthenics Skills

We will also be exploring all the key Calisthenics Skills as well as Combos and Flows i.e. stringing Skills together into little combinations.

Calisthenics Strength Development

The majority of Calisthenics skills require a high degree of bodyweight strength, particularly Pull, Push, Core and Glute strength. As such, this class will also prioritise Calisthenics Strength Development.

Beginner Friendly

This class is Beginner Friendly and everyone works at their level.

We’ll start you on fundamental skills such as the frog & elbow lever & over time you will slowly develop both the skill and the strength to be able to do more. 

To improve faster in Calisthenics, it is recommended that you take on a steady diet of strength and flexibility training, which you can do via our L9 Program, Strength Program and Stretch Program.

Members attending this class will always work at their level, so leave the ego at the door and come train with a fun bunch of folks.

Balance Skills
Many Calisthenics skills require balance, from the humble frog stance to the advanced handstand push up.  Yes you will be learning the handstand in our Calisthenics class!

The whole point of Calisthenics (apart from looking cool) is to be able to control your body in all sorts of wonderful positions. You’ll learn to be confident and master the control of your body.
